Watching the game on Thanksgiving? Here's a easy dip you can make for any occasion or none at all.

24oz. sour cream (or 2-16oz)
2-envelopes Lipton onion soup/dip mix
2ea nice size jalapenos finely minced
3-slices cooked bacon finely chopped

Make it the same day and refrigerate for an hour. I eat it with Wavey Lays chips but goes just as well on celery sticks. Just a little heat and hint of bacon.

Adjust bacon and jalapenos to your preference if needed.

Sounds yummy. Here's one I picked up from an acquaintance years ago.
Get a pack of Lil' Smokies. Put 'em into a sauce pot with about 1/2 a cup of strawberry jam, and a quarter cup of yellow or brown mustard. Simmer for about 15 -20 mins until some of the water evaps leaving the mixure sticky/gooey. (Personally, I have to boil-off the salt in Lil Smokies before I do anything to eat them. Otherwise, disgustingly salty.)

Suggestion:
Tell your guest DIL (or any over active cleanup person) about the covered dish of this dip that you made a day before.
Otherwise she may take it upon herself to be helpful and throw this 'sour, smelly' stuff out.

PS. I make it a day or two in advance so the Onion will blend and develop more flavor.
I'll try the bacon too.

I've shared this recipe in the past. Similar to the one above with a few more ingredients. Found it on the side of a box of crackers. :D

Cheddar Cheese Spread

2-8oz blocks Phila. Cream Cheese (Let soften)
1 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 tsp Dried Dill (Little more is also good)
2 tbsp Dried Onion Flakes (Or Lipton Soup/Dip Mix)
1 tsp Frank's Hot Sauce (Don't what for?)
2-3 Large Jalapenos (Seeds and all)

Only thing I would suggest is mixing the sour cream and cream cheese first. Makes it easier to stir in the cheddar cheese later. Refrigerate at least an hour before serving. Might be too firm for chips.

If it tastes good it has to be good for you!!
