They have WW2 tank destroyers? Sweet.

Bought one today. Very pleased. Holster wear but the mechanics are like new. The holster that comes with it is very good. The speed loader pouch and 2 speed loaders were new condition. I got the lesser grade and there are no stamped or etched in markings just a glued on plate. Always a **** shoot but I picked mine up in person. I think it helps to do that. 50 cal ammo cans for $6.95 had to have more of them at that price. A showroom only special I think.

One would think that a S&W collector would know it's a MODEL 10, not an M10.

Not everyone on this forum is a S&W collector. Matter of fact, I'm thinking some people who post here don't even own a Smith & Wesson, much less know what a Model 10 is.

Until I joined this forum five years ago, I didn't know what a Model 10 was. Wouldn't have known what it was if someone handed one to me. Just another Smith & Wesson, far as I knew.

Besides, the member posting the photo was making a joke.

Didn't mean him. Meant OP, who is a member of SWCA (and thus should be considered a collector) who wanted an M10 revolver.

We call them "Mxx" all the time on this forum. I'm surprised it's a topic of conversation.

I already have a RB M10, but if I hadn't just bought a M12 snubbie from a forum member I'd be very tempted to buy a SB M10 at that price ($300).

Ta"mayto" or To"maa"to. It's all the same to us, but the tank joke was funny. And let's be honest, every american should own a model 10. Pretty soon we might all be better off with an M10 too.

I got my 10-8 package from combat armory for $289 after transfer and free ship. i guess those sold out in 2 hrs and on Friday when I got mine aim's ad popped up.

Instead of making a new thread does anyone know what agency these came from with the DC plate?

...

This is just like when discussing Walther pistols; when you look up P 38, you get three choices; see attached :)

(And yes, save any lectures, I know all about periods and dashes ... )

Those came from the New York State Prison System. The "DC" tag references Department of Corrections.

My LCS has 5 of those revolvers for sale, 10-6,10-8, 10-10

My dad has one. Loves it. Always been his favorite gun. He doesn't even know it's a M10, Model 10, Military & Police. To him: It's "A .38 Special". "The old policeman's revolver" that's made by S&W.

Every time I refer to it has his "model 10" he looks at me funny and says "oh, my .38 Special" or "oh, my Smith & Wesson"
