Earlier this year I was at a gun show and saw an old S&W with a two-part trigger. I looked very close to what a current Glock trigger looks like. I was telling a polymer loving friend of mine about the little revolver and he did not believe me. I almost bought the little revolver but the seller was asking a lot for it.

Can someone please tell me about that revolver and post a picture if possible? I love making Glock fans eat crow.

Thanks in advance for the help,

These early safety trigger revolvers WERE NOT S&W products. They were made by one of the cheaper companies. IJ, H&R or one of them. Can't remember which one.

I think you are looking for the original Sigma in 9 or 40. They had a hinged trigger. Try the semi auto forum here for more info. Good luck.

Iver Johnson made a top break revolver w/
a safety built into the trigger similar to
a glock. I have one that belonged to an aunt
of a friend of mine, 32 short, 6" barrel,
nickel plated w/ box. Will did it out this
weekend and try to send picture next week if
you still need one.

Thanks everyone, I think Watsumoto got it right.

The Iver Johnson must have been mis-marked as an S&W. I was only able to find one picture one the web and the little trigger safety thing is barely visible in the picture. But at least now I have some photographic proof that Glock did not invent that trigger design.

Watsumota, thank you for the info. I hate to ask someone to go out of their way but if you would not mind sharing some photos of this neat revolver I sure would love to see it. I am sure others here would as well.

Here is a link to one I found on line

Thanks again,

PS the link you posted gave a 404 when I clicked it but I did a little digging and I think this is the link you referred to (the J-6469):
