I bought my 48-3 in 1993 and then sent it back to S&W for a 22LR cylinder fitting in 1997, just to have. I have only used the 22LR cylinder twice since purchasing it.
I have a Pre-17, Pre-18 and a few other 22 revolvers so if I want to shoot LR, I will usually take one of them.
