Finally decided to have a bedroom gun, do to some recent close house break-ins. I'd hate to see it grabbed bc its was in too obvious of a hiding place. How abt some ideas of where you hide you're guns. Larry

I always tuck it between the mattress and the box frame, with a portion of the grip sticking out so that all I need to do is reach down and pull it out. The reason I chose this method is simply because if an attacker is already in the room, reaching into a draw or underneath the bead entirely, is going to draw immediate attention to you and may hinder access to the firearm entirely. Doing it this way allows you to slide your hand down and grab it, with little to no movement being perceived by anyone else in the room. I know this may come across as kind of dangerous, it really is not as long as you are aware of what is putting pressure against the trigger guard, and obviously the muzzle direction during storage. You could always leave it in a kydex holster or something similar, then slip the setup in between the box spring and the mattress. There will be enough pressure on the holster as to keep it in place, but not too much so that the gun can't be drawn. A friend of mine recently had a great idea, he built a thin metal box that sits between the mattress and the box spring and keeps pressure off of the gun, it works wonderfully. And no, you don't feel it through the mattress. Not to knock others methods, but I never bought into the idea of a gunvault or similar apparatus. If someone makes their way to your room, your going to have to have ninja capabilites in order to get that gun out of the vault in time, which just gives the attacker the upper hand. Obviously I do use them for long term storage, but not in an immediate access scenario.
