I am competing in a steel match next month.

Any holster that will fit a 9mm or 40 cal M&P will work for your 22. I use a single Comp-Tac for all three of my M&P's. I also use Helweg 9mm mag pouches but they don't hold the 22 magazines tightly. Not much movement in the speed steel matches I shoot. I am intrigued by the new magnetic magazine holders. Several of our league shooters are using them and they are quick.

The M&P Pro Series Comp-Tac holsters will not fit the .22. The Pro series have a different profile to the slide and the Comp-Tac's fit that very well.

I bought a Fobus M&P 9/40 holster and a .22 mag holster for the M&P .22 parts.

If the match actually uses USPSA Steel Challenge rules, you don't need a holster, since you start with a .22 in your hands.
You can just bag the gun when not shooting.

I can verify that the M&P .22 is larger than the 9mm Pro and will not fit the Blade Tech 9mm Pro holster.

If you need a holster for the M&P22, get one that is made for the M&P45c. The .45 and .22 have slightly wider slides than the 9mm and .40 M&P's.

Thanks for all the good information
