I don't have my book with me, but could anyone verify if a serial # N312XXX is from 1969 Thank you.

I show N300000 1975-1976, N400000 1977-1978. Also shows N1 started 1969

Thanks. I thought it was 31 that 1969 started, but I thin is was 133.

N1 (a 28-2) was shipped in 1970. N312000 dates to 1976, but S312000 dates to 1969.

Doc 44, I have a question. If the book says the N300000-400000 is 1975-1976. how did you get N312000 to 1976?

S&W500 MAG...The book is somewhat general when it comes to serial numbers and I base my information on actual shipping data. Model 29-2s in the N300000 range were usually shipped and 1976 and those in the N400000 range were shipped in 1977.
