I have just gotten a Sigma 40 cal from one of the dealers that I normally fix revolvers and hammered S&W autos for, and his customer wants the trigger pull lightened. It is TERRIBLE, and before I even start looking at it, I wanted to pick the brains of you guys out there for information. I am wondering about how successful this attempt has been, where and what you have done to improve these things. To tell the truth, this feels like it is all striker spring to me. The trigger pull is not rough or gritty, just real heavy. I would say over 15 lbs. Knowing that this is basically a Glock, and Glocks are not all that bad, I am hoping someone has had some success. This gun is new or as new, and a recent version, still in box and all that.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

There are several discussions on this in the autoloader section, you might go there and put "Sigma trigger" and see if they pop up. I've never had luck with the lighter striker springs Wolff offers for the Glocks, usually end up with light strikes. I guessing 8-10# trigger is about the best that can be had reliably.

The Sigma 9F, trigger group is the smoother/lighter of the 2 trigger groups. It has one inner spring as opposed to the 2 inner and outer springs on the sear. A lot of guys remove the outer for a lighter pull. It takes off a little weight. The biggest change will be the striker spring. If you can get a consistent,
lighter spring. I haven't had much luck with that yet. I did add a trriger stop and it made a huge difference in the accuracy. The trigger breaks and stops right away, so the gun does not move after the shot. This is a DAO auto and it begs to be shot like a revolver, which I do and it shoots fine, is accurate and very reliable. Good luck with your search for the lighter pull. Bob
