Need help to identify my 32 S&W

I just gave a 32 cal. S&W 4" barrel, double action revolver with 3 screws on the right side to my son.
This pistol belonged to my father and I remember him carrying it at least 45 years ago.
I have been unable to find it in any publications.
It is nickle plated, six round revolver with rounded wooden handles. The # on the butt of the handle is 114061. On the frame where the cylinder opens has a # 56824. It has fixed sites, and an open ejector rod (not encased on the right side) under the barrel.
I would appreciate any help in identifying this pistol as to the year it was produced and a possible money value if anyone can help me it would mean a lot to me as this was a gift for my son for graduating from a Police Academy here in Tennessee.

Patience. We'll get you the info. You're at the right catagory. To establish a value clear/close-up photo's would be required. Possibly a 5th change .32 hand ejector series 1910-1917. Barrel markings, the exact caliber marking and corresponding numbers under the barrel and on the cylinder would also help. Somebody else will be along, I'm sure.

Thanks, I'm not in any kind of a hurry; don't get me wrong. My dad who owned the pistol has been dead for 41 years.
I'm just new to the site. I will get my son to photograph the pistol.
The number 56824 is on the frame and the cylinder.
The finish is about a 8 out of 10.
It has the patent dates on the top of the barrel, but only has "4 inch barrel ct" on the left side of the barrel.

With clear photos we can tell you for sure what you have. The 56824 on the frame & cylinder (seen when you open the cylinder) is the work/assembly number used to keep parts together during manufacturing. The 114061 on the butt is the serial number and should also be on the face of the cylinder and on the underside of the barrel. The side of the barrel should say ".32 S&W Long Ctg." , not 4 in. barrel ????
