I got this revolver when I was helping my wife's aunt clean out a townhome in Green Hills (Nashville area) last winter. This lady was 80 and had never been married. Her family was from Carthage, Tn. Her father traveled extensively all through the Western states in the early 1900s. As far as I know, it was either from him or someone else in the family. I have not heard any Civil War stories from any of the family members. There was 'confederate money' that they found in an antique piece once that they often talked about, but that was it.
I would say that this probably is a Tn piece. Would SW be able to get a letter on something like this?
As far as a value, I am not certain how to go about selling it yet. I want to talk to the gentleman who has written the book and see what he has to say about it first. Then based on that, I could either do an auction at one of the auction sites or place it here in the classifieds. Since this board has been very helpful, that might be my 1st inclination.
Everything matches that I know of. I have some more photos that I can post later tonight.
Thanks
Rick
