Need help with ship date

I have acquired a model 25-5 45 Colt nickel finish and would like to know when it was shipped from S&W. The Ser# is N857XXX and it has an 8 3/8" barrel which appears to be pinned. The cylinder is not recessed, which may indicate it was made after pinned barrels were discontinued and was made from left over stock. I may be way off here, so any help from you S&W experts would be greatly appreciated.

Only magnums and 22s were recessed.
