Need info on 686-3

Picked up a never fired Nickel 686-3 with serial number BBE64XX without the box. I took the grips off and could see Sept 2nd stamped on them but couldn't make out the year as it was stamped off the edge.

Should be 1988. You may want to check again but, the 686 series is stainless steel. The 586 models were produced in blue and nickel.

That is a beautiful revolver and the combat grips are "killer!" They shoot as good as they look!

My bad! I knew it was Stainless Steel. I bought five pistols from a widowed lady and was told they were all unfired and so far I think she is right.
