I'm no expert but do have one and have seen a few more. The "cokes" look just fine to me. The box, not so much. Looks like it has a form for an 8 3/8 gun and has been relined. Not much of a ding on overall value though, from my perspective anyway. Gun looks to be in excellent condition.

I'm not in to the boxes so much, but that gun? If I were bidding at a local auction house I would probably quit at 4 G's. I would likely be out bid. A correct, high condition box with that 29-1 would take it who knows where. If I got it with a hammer of 3 G's I would be elated. My 1963 29-2 would be very happy to have it next to him as well. "Him" is the correct pronoun. ;) He is shown here in a much later type 6 box.

BTW, his SN is S231772.

A great example of a Model 29-1 that is all correct except for the presentation case that dates to 1979-1985. The 29-1 was likely shipped in 1962 and is one of approximately seventy known to collectors. The 6 1/2-inch barrel length is the most common followed by the 8 3/8-inch, 5-inch, and 4-inch. If I were selling it, I would offer it at $5,000. You can always reduce the price if it doesn't sell.
