Hey guys I'm wanting to swap out the standard 3 white 3 dot sights on my M&P fs. Looking for some recommendations on nightsights. I have Trijicons on a few other guns, but I'm open to trying out a different sight if there is some out there that are better but won't break the bank to get.

Trijicon HD's and the new Truglo TFO's seem to be the most popular at the moment.

trijicon hd's have my vote...that's what I'll be putting on my 45c.

Hey would someone set up a poll on night sites, it would be interesting to see if the HD's beat the TFO's. I know they both have their pro's and con's but what do must people have on their M&P's. I choose the TFO's on my 40c and 9MM shield. If I knew how to set up a poll I would, not to good on the computer stuff.

I've always used the traditional 3-dot night sights and liked them but this time I'm going to put some Ameriglo Pro i-dot with Green single dot rear, Green with Orange Outline front sight on my Shield 40 and see how they work for me.

Another vote for Trijicon HD. They are so very nice. You're renting the sights for ten years anyways so don't get too in depth.

Trijicon green dot standards for me. Love the Novak style.

Trijicon HDs on my 45C. Awesome sights. The front sight just draws my eye right to it immediately.

Tru-Glo front & rear installed on my Shield. I have the TFO on my Pro for comps but went straight tritium for the Shield. I have done many sight removals on M&P but the Shield, even with the MGW tool specific to Shield, was the most tedious ever. Especially after reading the warnings about potential of cracking the slide with the tool.

Triji HD >>>>>>>>>>>>>> TFO

I have Trijicons on my M&P40 but my 40C came with stock sites. Not being to be able to afford night sights I got some Glo-On luminous paint & put it on the 40C's sights. For about $10 those compact's sights are just as bright & as long lasting as the Trijicons.

I'm a big fan of the "i dot" sight from Ameriglo. I've used night sights on my semis for close to 20 years. The "i dot" style works best for me as opposed to the 3 dots-have a similar Novak set up on my 1911. The M&P is the pistol I carry more than anything else (until I get a Shield soon) and these sights work for me.

The Ameriglo was right at $100 installed. The bright orange ring on the front is very fast in daylight, I've run the M&P in two classes since I had them installed. Great product.

What about when the yellow or red ring gets dirty?

I have Trijicon sights on a couple of 1911s and they have a white ring around the tritium vial. This makes them easier to see in the daylight. However, dirt from shooting has all but eliminated the white part on my front sight. This turns it into a simple black sight in the daytime. Still glows great at night.

I have the TFOs on my M&P. The fiber optic seems to be much better. It's bright during the day and doesn't seem to be affected by the dirt/carbon from shooting. If it does get a little dim, a quick swipe with my finger and the dirt is gone.

So, while I'm sure the Trijicon sights are great, I'm hesitant to spend that money just to find out they're not that great after shooting a few thousand rounds.

A little 'dirt' never hurt anything. If I can keep my white stock sights clean I'm sure I can keep a yellow or orange trijicon clean. Interesting viewpoint tho.

Clean the sights LOL

Yeah, I've cleaned my Trijicon sight and the white is gone. I'm surprised that I have to spell it out for you. I was asking how well it stands up to cleaning. Well?

Another vote for the Trijicon HDs. Love the Orange front sight.

Ok finally got around to fitting my Trijicon HD's and tried them out today.
I knew I would like them when I first saw them, I bought the yellow ones and the front sight just pops out at you. Fantastic. I was worried because I'd heard about accuracy problems but all I can say is POA=POI.
I couldn't be more happy, focus is only on the front sight as opposed to the Truglo's but it depends what you like.
Took some time debating whether to get a sight mover but I just knocked the Novaks out with a brass punch and knocked these in the same. Cleaned the brass scratches off with toothpaste, good as new. Getting a few more sets, highly recommended.

I went with the Ameriglo pro I dots, yellow front, u notch rear and love 'em! A lot cheaper too than Trijicons.
