Have a “new” IPad and click a thread, hit the back button, then click the thread again to get into it. Is there something in my settings to change that would help.

Also a friend called me with an Apple phone and is trying to join the forum. Keeps rejecting the password for him. Told him to get on a regular computer to join. Apple isn’t apparently compatible with something here?

I searched a couple pages in the office and nothing to help, Larry

I primarily use an iPad on the forum and don't have any problems like that. Try logging off, clearing browse history/temporary internet files/cookies and logging back in.

I don't use a smartphone on the forum, so I can't offer much insight. Is it possible your friend or a family member previously registered with the email he's using? I do know that an email address can only be used on one account.

It’s weird, my old IPad worked OK. Wondered if this new one needed something turned off or on in the settings. I have used an iPad for years but the settings sometimes confuse me as to what they do. I cleared this one once and lost the automatic sighn In feature. Larry

I have no idea how your browser is configured, but make sure you're allowing cookies.

Click on "Settings" (gear icon) and select Safari. Note how I have mine configured.

If you clear your cache/cookies you probably will need to check the "Remember Me" box on any forum you log into afterwards. The "Remember Me" function puts a cookie on your computer that says "This is Joe Smoe and his password is XXXXXXX". Each time you go to that forum, it automatically looks for that cookie and if it finds it, logs you automatically. A feature of many web browsers is they will carry that information across platforms. Firefox for example can be loaded on a desktop, laptop, tablet and phone, and it will carry that information to each device if you enable that feature.

I just got replacement iPad last week after dropping mine onto tile floor and cracking screen (glad I took Apple Care). It works fine with the forum just like the old one. Good suggestion above to check settings.

Yep, mine will allow cookies. Checked the setting. Hopefully with time this will clear itself. Very frustrating especially trying to add pictures to a post. Thanks so far with ideas. Larry

Update, gave back to Costco 2 gen 9 iPads. Have a 90 day satisfaction guarantee. Paid the difference for a 10th gen and had the same problems. Been going on since September.

Talking to the Costco rep and he said Chrome could be installed on an iPad. Installed Chrome after experiencing the ongoing problems and still have the problem with Chrome. Not sure why it seems only I have the issue.

Touch a topic and it opens very slowly or seems stuck. Hit the back button then touch the topic again and it goes right in. Have PM’s and sometimes can’t see them for 24 hours. Can view the PM’s if I use my phone but not on the iPad. It’s frustrating but I like it here. Larry

I edited your title to draw in more Ipad users. I'm not an Apple user nor a Chrome user so I can't offer much help. Most likely it's a setting somewhere in Chrome. Hopefully another Ipad user can chime in with help.

That sounds like the page is loading from the iPad cache when you touch the topic the second time. Pages can be slow to display if the browser will only display a page once it has everything for that page, ads, pictures, etc. Internet Explorer worked that way back in the day. Firefox tends to display stuff as it loads.

I would also suggest that you try your iPad on somebody else's wifi. It could be that yours has become slow for some reason.

Thanks for all the ideas so far. My Samsung A13 phone is connected to the wi-fi and I don’t have any problems.

Great title change.

I was actually going to ask if this could be moved into the lounge where more people visit?? I rarely come into the office myself, Larry

I too use an IPad on the forum. I had an IPad Air 2 before and it lasted 7 years and I updated to an IPad 11” Pro about a year ago and both IPads are used on this forum with no problems. I use Safari and Google Chrome both. I don’t know what the OP’s problem might be after reading the suggestions.

Have you tried using Firefox? I don’t use Safari to view the forum. My genius son (;)) figured out years ago that for some reason he thought my iPad worked better with Firefox as the browser for forum sessions. I do use Safari for other stuff.

I've used iPads for the forum since 2012 or so. I've never experienced your problem either.

I would call Apple for help. I call occasionally and they are always helpful, and do not charge anything for their assistance: 1-800-MYAPPLE.

Good luck!

I’ve always used my iPhone or iPad on this forum and never had a problem.

I’m ignorant enough I may have inadvertently stumbled upon some correct settings but I certainly couldn’t duplicate them today.

Computers are today’s mystery to me but I have a computer person who takes care of my computer issues. Haven’t a clue how she does it or what she does, but she’s infallible with my computers (Apple and Microsoft machines).
