need parts for my 48-4

ive been on numrich there not listed , contact them by message takes forever
called brownells they didnt know( maybe tech was a newbie )

to take off cylinder & yoke you take the screw off on the right side of gun , under the screw should be a small spring & a detent im guessing ????

I need the 2 parts names so I can search better on the interweb

The model 48-4 does not have the spring loaded yoke retention screw, which was a later feature. A replacement part may need to be fitted (long enough to hold the yoke in place but short enough so the yoke doesn’t bind).

Murphydog is correct, the only thing that holds the yoke in place is a properly fitted screw. Try ebay, you can find almost anything there partwise.

What problem are you having? Loose yoke?

The most common problem is that the yoke retention screw that is fitted to the yoke shaft was accidentally swapped with another sideplate screw. Try the side plate screw behind the trigger guard and see if your problem goes away; whatever the problem is that your having.

The two crowned side plate screws near the trigger guard are alike, they have a small "stem" at the end of the thread. The forward screw's tip is fitted at the factory to fit into the groove on the yoke where it fits in the frame, and prevents forward-aft movement of the yoke. The fitment involves filing a very small amount from the edge of the threads at the end of the screw until the screw will seat properly on the side plate, without binding the yoke, or allowing fore-aft play.

OK........... didint realize it didint need them.....

Im also wondering if the yoke is bent ???

Ive ordered from power custom a sleeve and a bar with brownells getting me the Yoke/Crane Alignment Tool For S&W K, L, N Frame.........
if it is indeed bent

No not polished, the unthreaded tip of the screw has had its diameter and length fitted to the groove in the yoke shaft and blued.

You still haven’t explained why you’re doing this trouble shooting, what problem are you having with your gun?
