I tried the search but came up empty, so I thought I would ask here.
Just need a basic holster, no CCW carry. Was looking at Blackhawk and Fobus.

dswancutt,
Really comes down to personal preference, I like OWB holsters and seem to gravitate towards the kydex type holsters. The one I have for my M&P 9fs is a Blade Tech with a drop and offset, I recently picked up a Shield and found a holster company called Tuaga and they make a leather holster with a kydex paddle and this is so comfortable that I may have to buy one for my M&P .40c. Lots of guys like IWB but I trided a KIng Tuck by Galco and it was a pain in two areas, I didn't care for the stuggle to get it on and when I put the gun in it it rode right on my Hip bone and annoyed me because I had a hip replacement done so I returned it. I think you just have to keep trying different holsters until you find one thats does what you want it to do.

I recommend the "Crossbreed Super Tuck". It is the perfect holster. Choose from cow or house hide. Hourse hide is better for hot weather but I chose the cow hide because it is black and blinds in better with clothing. This holster a very comfortable!

You do realize the Supertuck goes inside your pants don't you?

If you're looking for a range/trail holster I would recommend an outside the waste band holster. I use a Blackhawk SERPA with my FS40. It's tough, holds the weapon securely, and doesn't attract or retain dirt and moisture.

dswancutt I'm just about to place an order for a Holster for my M&P .40FS from High Noon Holsters. Be aware they are expensive but in this field I do believe that you do get what you pay for. Far to many people try to pick up a cheap holster and after a week or two it ends up in the closet. Most of High Noon's products are made to order but they do have some in stock. The use both Cow hide and Horsehide. You can have your holster lined or unlined (2Ply Leather). They also make Belts, Mag holders and assorted other items.
