I'm looking at a 27-3 4" nickel in about 95% with goodyears at a local gun shop. They are asking $575 and the sales pitch is not too many 4" guns made and especially in nickel. What do you think. Don't hold back.

Thanks in advance

Hey Bob.

I think that I've actually seen more nickel than blue 4" 27-3's.

Still $575 isn't too bad a price. In other parts of the Smith Starved South, those boys in Florida would have already snatched this up.

I have a 4" 27-3 that is blued and it someone jeweled the hammer and trigger and probably did a trigger job on it. The gunsmith knew his business and the gun may be the nicest shooting Smith I own. Paid more than they are asking but dig get box and dox.

At 95%, for the money, yep, I would own it. Just make sure it is 95%. On nickel guns, the two main areas to watch are 1) The finish and 2)The finish.

Take off the Goodyear's frist before buying!! They sweat and cause corrosion, but not a deal buster if you want it for a shooter.
