Need some help/advice.

Im sure theres some Massachusetts members on here that may be able to help. I recently picked up a new carry gun from a friend w/ a private sale. We did all the paperwork and sent it in within the 7 days. My question is, how long before I can carry it? I looked online to see if I could find something, but couldnt find anything. Is there someone I can call to find out?

The other guys are telling you go ahead and carry it.

But I'm sure they're working on the assumption that you have a Massachusetts carry permit... and you didn't say that you do. Do you?

Too bad you don't live in Vermont. I lived there for a while. Yep, it's a liberal state, I suppose, and in keeping with that they have very liberal gun laws.

You can carry concealed, openly or anyway you want in good ol' Vermont as long as you haven't been convicted of certain types of crimes and your are of legal age.

phnx, good point. I did forget to mention that I do have my MA carry license.

I was thinking I could carry it as soon as I completed the paperwork, although I also had the thought... If for whatever reason, god forbid, I had to use that firearm and the police came and ran the numbers to make sure it was registered and it wasnt in the FLB computer what would happen? I mean, do I carry that carbon receipt for the transaction with me everywhere I go?

I googled online and I couldnt find anything. I called the MA state police office and left a message and no one ever got back to me... I just want to make sure Im doing the right thing at all times. Things are scary out there and Id like to stay on the good side of the law!
