Need some help. Sear Deactivation lever fell out!

Unfortunately I know how you feel. I called about a shield last thursday and was told that it was fixed and waiting on the mailroom. Called back yesterday and was told that it shipped last thursday and they couldnt find a tracking number. Called back today and was told that it was sent to shipping last Thursday and should be shipped in the next few days. I'm guessing that they are shipping new and warranty repairs out of the same mailroom without giving priority to the warranty returns which is total BS! Warranty returns should have an express lane in the mailroom as they already have my money and I have no functional gun.

wow im sorry your experiencing the same issue Pennyrile. crazy isnt it. let me know how it turns out. im a tad frustrated at this point...

m&p sear disconnect falling out

1-23-17 bought a new m&p shield 9mm, got it home , pulled the slide back, locked it flipped the yellow sear disconnect down it fell out on the floor, gun was assembled without the sear disconnect pin installed, called smith and wesson they tell me i have to ship it back wait 4 weeks for them to install a 2$ pin then send it back, what a crock of ****,they will not send me the pin, from what i am reading this has been a ongoing problem

Dang another zombie thread. I always start reading these things then I realize the thread is five years old...

i was thinking i might send a letter on letter head telling them a little more detail about the issue. (not that they wont see the lever in the accompanied ziplock baggie! ha ha) and let them know that i was switching from my glock to this and how many days i have been without the gun. maybe that might encourage them to boost and reconfirm my decision to switch to the shield... who knows cant hurt.

What's the advantage of a "letter head".....?

LOL. I've done the same thing. There may be a small bit of knowledge in this old thread. I bought a 40C years ago that had a similar problem. It didn't spit out its sear deactivation lever, but the sear locking block was wobbling badly in the frame making a poor trigger pull really awful. Plastic is pretty hard to machine or smooth, so I ended up shimming the little nasty till the sear block would stay put. Did wonders for the trigger pull. I have not noted this defect on any recent M&P I have picked up so maybe S&W has made progress in their quality control or selection of injection molding subcontractors.
