I have a buddy of mine that is just getting a custom 1911 build finished. Government sized, high polish blue and no rail

He is a lefty and always has trouble finding holsters.

For this BBQ gun, he is seeking a Leather holster with lining. He wants one with a drop loop and he want it Floral carved. Perhaps from a maker that could do a matching dress belt

I just do not know where to point him so any and all suggestions from you guys will be appreciated

If you have had something similar made for yourself, pictures are welcome

Well, I cannot help but recommend Simply Rugged
I had one made for my '68 27-2 and, I am super happy with it. What really pushed me over the edge was their Chesty Pulller Suspension System that you can but to go with your holster. Keep in mind that my holster is a Sourdough Pancake and, your friend would want their Cuda Holster. I'm also not sure about lining but, mine is really smooth inside and fits perfectly. Here's s couple pics.
Hope this helps.

Talk to Milt Sparks or Matt Del Fatti.

Either will make a custom rig. DelFatti focuses on 1911 now and is a very long wait (2+ years). Sparks is quicker (6-12 months).

These are premier holster makers, the very best.

A custom gun deserves no less.

I thank you guys for steering him toward your favorite makers

I have spent several hours looking over their websites and very few of them are showing holsters with a drop loop. I have also googled these names to look for images of perhaps discontinued designs with little luck

If anyone has more specific ideas from makers that are known for drop holsters, it would save me lots of time

I would imagine Simply Rugged would make whatever you want. That's partly why I suggested them.
Just give them a call. Very nice people.

There are members on this forum who do very nice leather work and might be able to custom make one to your exact requirements.
Greg AKA Bamabiker made me a very nice holster with basket weave for my 1911.

Another vote for Simply Rugged. They make nice stuff. They are very good to deal with. I have their chest rig to carry my Freedom Arms. I checked out a bunch of these types of rigs. This one seemed to be the most intelligently designed and the best build quality. I was not disappointed.

Ashman Saddlery made a couple of scabbards for me. He is 100% custom, tell him what you want and he does it.

The same can be said about Wyatt Burp, a member of this community.

I would agree. The build quality is incredibly good imo.
The fittament is perfect too. Between the protection of the Sourdough holster and the build quality of the chest rig, I can't recommend Simply Rugged enough.
I have a super nice Alessi Shoulder Rig, which is a little different than a chest rig but, still I reach for that Simply Rugged Chesty Puller.
