Free? Or, at least almost free.
Are you aware that if you go to Midwayusa and go to the "Knowledge Center" at the bottom of the page, there are downloadable pistol and rifle targets?

You can download them and print them yourself.
They print well. I also enlarged one and printed it on 13x19 paper for longer ranges.

Happy shooting!

I use MY TARGETS.COM smallbore, center fire and pistol targets at no charge or membership required.

I buy targets. One of the outfits that the indoor ranges buy targets from is local. The large FBI/SWAT/Zombie targets that go for $1.50-$3.00 each at the range cost about $0.25-$0.55 in 100 target lots (before shipping or taxes).

Place is called 'Law Enforcement Targets'.

I bought a ream of cardstock and print out a bunch of each and stick them in the bottom of the range bad.

Yours blow mine away. (No pun intended.)
Thanks! I never knew they existed.

I just use cardboard and a square of orange duct tape. I can get about three years out of a roll of duct tape.

Roll of orange duct tape - $4.00.
Cardboard - $0.00.
Cost per year - $1.33
That's cheap shootin'. ;) :D

Good alternatives!
I like to use what's inexpensive and available.
I do have to confess though, that a few days ago I broke down and purchased a 10 pack of siloutte type targets. There's probably a correct name for them but effectively they have a shaded body and head pattern with indicated areas for ideal shot placement.
I thought this would be a good one for training my eyes and wife after she can better place her shots.

(Part of the reason for the purchase was that I browse a shop I don't normally buy from because their prices are considerably higher than my favorite LGS. )
