Recently acquired “.22 long rifle ctg”, pistol. I want to put new grips on it. I think it would be a K frame round butt grip? It has 5 screws according to the id article in the forum. In the frame behind the cylinder there is a number 40499 there.Serial number 408xxx. Any other info would be great!IMG_0015.jpegIMG_0014.jpegIMG_0020.jpegIMG_0018.jpegimage.jpg

Might be a 22 Outdoorsman's revolver, but they were square butt guns. Could also be a 22/32 Heavy Frame Target, but the serial number is not correct for either model?? The number you gave has to be the assembly number. Look at the bottom or the front of the butt-frame for the serial number. Should be a 6 digit number.

OK, that would be a 22/32 HFT revolver shipped around 1925. There is no rebate cut into the back of the frame, so it would take a set of walnut square butt extended stocks like the image below. Problem is they are not that they are not seen for sale often. If you cannot find a set, you could install a set of I frame hard rubber stocks also shown below. I do have three sets of these, but they not selling cheap any more. Fun little guns at the range.P1010007.JPG

Awwww! I didn’t know they were proper. I took the gun out to the range, and it was great fun shooting with those stocks. I learned more about what the gun model is, too. I would say that the title to this thread is no longer true as I am going to leave it with these grips.
