I must regretfully leave negative feedback for this transaction:

"Smith & Wesson Model 15-3, Serial #3K1XX. Judging by the lack of a cylinder line, the backing plate, and the forcing cone area, this one looks unfired. Unfortunately, it was a victim of bad storage. There is a minor amount of wear to the blueing at the muzzle and a couple of very small places on the cylinder. It looks like it was stored in a holster for a long time. There is no rust or pitting. Overall, it is very good and would make a nice addition to any collection. $400 Face to face here in SC or $425 shipped from my FFL to your FFL."
I tried to contact the seller but he has not responded to my eMail. As a result I reached out to the Mods and they suggested this route.
The gun's condition was not accurate. Based on the description I expected some Bluing issues.
1. Bluing was not 'minor wear' The gun was down to the steel on both sides of the muzzle, the front of the yoke and trigger guard,on the cylinder, and on various parts of the frame.
2. Seller claimed there was 'no rust or pitting. I'm not a great photographer but you can see clearly pitting and rust on the frame and under the grips.
3. Light primer strikes. Using factory ammo, one or two rounds per cylinder result in a failure to fire on the first strike. On these rounds you can clearly see the light strike. I re-cycled these rounds a second time and they fired.
If I saw this gun in a store, I would not consider a purchase.
If the gun was as described I'd be happy.
I contacted S&W. To re-blue the gun would be approximately $200.00. This does not include addressing the mechanical issue.
The good: amazing trigger and everything seems tight.
I do not have many posts or transactions here, but I am very active on the Sig Forum, where I have bought and sold many guns. I am not a Newb.
I feel badly having to leave this post but feel I have no choice.
Regretfully I feel that I have been taken.
Respectfully,
Jeff
