No DMV, at one time the Highway Patrol website was gone, and multiple other state agencies are off the Internet and unable to operate face to face because their computer systems are down. This has been going on since Sunday.

The state authorities have been tight lipped about what precisely has happened, only saying that there was a "network security" issue. Allegedly the governor is giving a briefing at 1600 PDT today. Who knows if he'll say much more.

Seems that it was a full-on ransomware attack. No firm dates on when the affected services will be back up. I have a vehicle registration coming up, so hopefully it won't be too long.

My city had a ransomware attack awhile back. It took them months to rebuild the database from scratch. There were no water bills for awhile, but that first one was a Deusy. At keast they allowed folks who needed to to pay over several months with no penalty or interest added.
