New 15-22 charging handle

Roll pins are super easy to push out with a 1/16 punch and push in with a 3/32 or larger punch or piece of wood or whatever you want to use that won't damage the pin or the handle.
There are quite a few levers available, so I am not getting into that pool yet.
Levers are like hand guards. Any of the hundreds and hundreds available are perfect. I will come up with my own version, but it has to be what I think is right first. I will not make anything that is "close" or almost there.

Just know that latches/levers designed for ARs will NOT work on the 15-22. The latch for ARs latch into a hole on the receiver. The receiver on a 15-22 has a projection that the end of the latch slips over to lock the handle in place.

As far as I know, the only 15-22 latches are S&W, NDZ, PT and BeltFed.

Personally, the best latch (not handle) is the PT, followed by NDZ, BetFed and stock.

This brings up an interesting point. Without seeing mine right now, I wonder if the upper could be modified to accept a .225/5.56 latch? Or could a latch be modified to fit the 15-22 upper?

Is there any name or logo or zombie markings on these? Or is the black solid black? I just like the clean look with no additional markings. :D

No. I simply refuse to mark up my hard work with logos (ads) or other distracting junk.
This will be the first item I am even considering putting my logo or something on. But it would be hidden under the picatinny rail when the handle is fully forward and locked in position.

Great reply. I know everyone has their opinions and I am a fan of some Zombie entertainment, but I don't ever plan on owning ANY firearm or accessory that has some reference to a rotting corpse. And some compnies fail to understand that their bad logos can make their well-designed products undesirable. Case in point, I almost didn't order a Lone Wolf threaded barrel for my Glock 19 just because I think their logo looks like it was drawn by a 17yr old stoner who was bored during English class.

Back on topic: I think I might have to pick up one of these, but want to see what the FDE ones look like first. Thanks for offering these!

Are you working on an ambi-charging handle, or an ambi-charging latch to work with this?

Obviously you didn't read Tacticool 22's post that YOU actually quoted. It answers your question.

The ambi stuff will be covered under a different thread.
It will be a stand alone product. No add on parts, nothing that can be used or scrounged from something else.
A truly unique item. Just pull from either side. NOT like the an existing thing that you have to push to pull.
It will be spendy, but absolutely unmatched. It will also be my first venture into the AR-15 world with its twin brother.
So, no more ambi stuff here. Lets stay on topic.
What would the best word for brown be?
FDE, Brown, Coyote or something else?

I wasnt too sure if he was working on a new design of a latch that could be incorporated into this handle or if it was an all new design. I thought maybe he just called it an ambi-charging handle as a general term, when he meant an ambi-latch possibly. I just wanted clarification, seeing that he brought it up in this thread, that it wouldnt be an add on to this handle. Now im wondering if i buy this handle or wait for the ambi-handle. Easy solution.....buy both. :)

Im not sure as to the name of the color.. But staying as close to magpuls FDE would make for a lot broader range of customers I would think.. For instance. I have all FDE magpul stuff on my gun and would buy one of your charging handles if they were similar in color... However I wouldnt buy one that was "coyote tan" for fear the color would be way off... Thats just my opinion..

I think for the 15-22 crowd, that FDE would be the best description for brown since the factory moe model calls it FDE.

My personal opinion is Flat Dark Earth (FDE).

Most accessories I see are listed as such.

I know that Mission First Tactical has stocks in FDE, but they released another color called Scorched Dark Earth to closer coinside Magpul's FDE.

Regardless, whatever you choose to call it, it's proximity to Magpuls FDE will be the biggest factor in whether I get one in black or FDE.

I skimmed through this whole thread so if I missed it, I apologize. Is there any ETA as to when these might be ready for purchase and will they be available through a website or would it be a "pm you and send via PayPal" type of transaction?

Thanks. Love your work!

Tacticool22, I noticed that at the very bottom of you store page it says Made by Plinker Tactical. Is this correct or just a carry over from creating the page from another page?
