Just picked up my new 108282 1911 a few weeks ago, and had the chance to try it out at the range last Saturday. This is a really nice 1911. 1st group at 10 yards was 20 shots into about 2 1/2". At 15 yards, it opened up a bit, but it'd help if I could see both the sights and the target at the same time. If I could've held it, I'm sure the gun would've done its part.

I ran 100 rounds of handloads using WSF (don't recall the charge right now) and 200 grain Hornady XTP's, plus 50 rounds of old Norinco 230 grain ball through it. No failures or hitches of any type, period. It just worked. Trigger pull is very decent...not as nice as my Kimber, but just a shade off.

1st gun I've bought in 10 years...$702 on Gunbroker from Bud's Gun Shop, I think I got my money's worth. Here she is...

Very nice... I'm sure that you two will continue to build that 'special' relationship.

Nice gun. I think the SW1911 out of the box are consistantly good. You might get lucky with another brand in the same or less price range but for sure the SW's I have are all good shooters. I have a commander that is a tack driver with a nice ,better than good, but not excellent trigger and a gov't that I'm thinking the previous owner must have worked on because I haven't found a trigger that is better, that includes some high end stuff I was contemplating at the gun shop. Overall, both are very good guns.

This is the 1st 1911 I've bought that didn't have at least 1 hiccup in the first 150 rounds. The gun is tight, but apparently needs no significant "break in" period. I'm sure that the customs are outstanding guns, but with the level of performance that this one delivers for 1/3 the price, they would seem to be picking nits for any noticeable improvement.

I'm wondering what it'll look like with a nice pair of Hogue tulipwood or rosewood laminate grip panels on it...

Thanks to everyone for stopping by!

Congratulations on a fine gun! I have the same model and it's been nothing less than accurate and reliable. I know you'll continue to enjoy it.
