New 3913 TSW?

Old Roger... Hope all is well!! I too am looking for the exact same pistol you are. I have found in Philly, a fellow selling a nice first version of the 3913tsw. Like you, though, I am in need of a 2nd version NIB or LNIB and having a helluva time finding one. Have been canvasing the gun shows here in PA with no luck. Found plenty of std. 3913s, but no luck on the tsw. Feel free to pm me with any leads you might have. Thanks.

Question: I have a 3913TSW but it has a nickel decocker and slide lock. It also does not have the frame rail. Whats the deal? was there a production change that do not know about?

TSW pistol more than a gimmick

TSW series, sorry a larger PDF scan would not upload.

What state you live in?

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...10001&content=13024&sectionId=14151&langId=-1

Since I already know the 2 existing LE distributors in my state I usually just toss those extra forms, lists, schedules, net working and promo materials after each armorer class. Sorry.

Even once you find an actual distributor it's up to them if they want to get involved in doing a direct sale to an individual active/retired cop, of course, as well as how they may want to set the price.

As previously mentioned, sometimes they decide to clean out their existing inventory of various odds & ends, including overrun production from LE orders and contracts, so it's still possible to find brand new models which have entered the wholesale/distribution.commercial pipeline.

Just depends how much effort you feel is merited.

Edited to include a more direct link.

You might want to consider the model 3953 or 3954. Same gun in double action only (DAO). I have one of each. Great shooters.

That one has black extremities. Mine are nickel.
http://fud-files.netfirms.com/image/private/guns/f01.jpg Mine looks just like this one, although this is an image from a google search.
I also do not have a chamber loaded indicator.hole in the barrel to see the brass.

The original TSW's lacked the accessory rail, loaded chamber inspection port and the machining needed to accept the optional spring-loaded, decock-only assembly.

The manual safety and slide stop lever were simply plain finish, not nickel. Those parts are still available in plain finish (versus black) when ordering parts. I've ordered slide stops and spring-loaded, decock assemblies in both finishes. S&W got caught up in the 2-tone/contrast finish thing some time back. ;)

New 3913TSW's in East Windsor CT

Old Roger and Pa,
My local shop Riverview Sales in East Windsor CT had 2 new 3913tsw' for sale. The owner got his hands on an overrun of 3913TSW's, 3914tsw's, chief specials and i even saw a 5906tsw. I was there a week ago and they were still there. I previously bought 2 3913tsw's and a 3914tsw. Other forum members have bought some after getting my heads up

Hope this helps

So should I assume that mine is of the original production stock? And if so how would I go about finding out when it was made? I bought it used at a Gander Mountain here in Michigan, so there's no paperwork with it.

Thanks to all who replied.

At the time of the original post 10-03-09, I was unable to find a 3913 TSW except for a battered, beat, overpriced one on GB.
However a forum member found me a new 3913 LS. I am very happy with it; it's a great concealable pistol. I think now better for me than a 3916 TSW, especially if you were to actually use the rail on the TSW.
I have a 4566 TSW and have put a Laser on that.

Thanks guys;
My reason for the TSW was two fold, first it seems to still be in production and in theory I could get a new one. Second, it has the removable rail and I had thought of putting a laser on it for my wife's use.

I have been watching them on GB and either I don't know what they are worth or the sellers there don't.
Someone has a used 3913 LS up for $900?.....The 3913 TSW, listed as a 3912 starts at $575. I had assumed a figure more in the low/mid $400s for a gently used pistol. Am I way off?

Anyone have a reasonable value figure?
Roger

THE 3913 IS A GREAT WEAPON. I HAVE BEEN USING MINE AT WORK AND AS CONCEALED AND COMPACT IT IS PERFECT. AS FOR PRICE, I WOULD SAY A NICE USED 3913 WILL RUN BETWEEN 450. AND 475. ON THE GUN AUCTION SITES. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO PURCHASE ONE, BUY IT.
