I picked up my MP40 CORE this week and had a chance to get it out to the range yesterday. While I wasn't surprised with the trigger creep and pull weight, I was surprised at the gritty feel during the take up prior to engaging the sear. Between that and a 5-6 pound trigger I was not prepared for the affects of these on my shooting.

From a bench rest I had reasonable groups that were just to the left of center. When I tried to shoot off hand (two hands) the groups expanded and went further left and down. Then I tried some quasi fast shooting and the groups got to be close to the bench rest results. I think I was paying too much attention to the trigger when I shoot slow.

That all being said, I have ordered Apex forward set sear and trigger kit. I want less travel and a much lower trigger pull weight. I was going to order a MP-Ram, but I noticed that the hole that it fits into is NOT on my gun. S&W has changed the sear housing so there is no place for this part.

Anyone have any ideas what other options there might be to create a tactile trigger reset?

Bend the trigger bar a little. I don't use a RAM on my M&Ps.

I posted photos and info the other day.

I've read this a couple of times now, I'd like to do it to my CORE .40 as it has an audible/tactile reset but nowhere near to the degree the new regular M&Ps do.

Can always see if you can get the new slide stop, it has a little hump to help reset.

I'm pretty sure the CORE I have (born in July) has the new slide stop, it's still not as tactile/audible as the new standard models... That's across the board, not just on mine. PRO series still doesn't have as positive of a reset.
