Last summer I bought a new 629-6.

Got it home and noticed the cylinder release thumb-piece dragged along the frame.

It didn't bother me at first but something told me I should get it checked out.

I called SW and they said they wanted it back.

A couple of weeks went by and they told me the gun is not repairable and will make me a new one

I said since that is the case, can you do some mods for me?

I can't stand the laser etched logo and wanted it stamped like the old days. I also asked for the Master Action Revolver Package.

Took about 3 months I guess but I got the gun back as pictured.

I was stunned at how beautiful it looks and the trigger job is amazing. So glad they were able to do the stamped logo too.

The grips are Altamont "Cokes"

The gun shoots like a dream.

Hope you like it

I recently sent a revolver back to S&W for a refinish, and asked that they remove the laser etched logo altogether -- and surprisingly, they agreed to. Had they refused, my "Plan B" would have been to ask them to roll stamp it instead.

So congrats on even thinking to ask them; looks like you made an excellent choice. I'm glad Smith & Wesson is accommodating in this regard. Thanks for the info.
