Got a new 686+ 3". Sold my XDm 40 to pick this one up and glad I did. Gave a new shooter a great deal with the XDm gear and 2 extra mags, 2 boxes of Win PDX1, and a K&D Defender holster. Envelope shows fire date of 8 July 14 and paid $780, but ive always wanted this gun so, to me, its worth it. Changed the rubbers out for Altamont walnut boot grips. Its more accurate than I am. Target was at 25yds offhand, but in my defense the guy next to me was shooting a 500 mag. He let us shoot it, but it was really distracting. Plan to go back this week with a rest to see if I can do better. Ordered a Lobo EP and will post pics when I receive it.

Plan to put Meprolights on it and a Wolf Springs or Wilson14# kit and thats about it unless you guys can convince me otherwise. SA trigger is about 4# out of the box. Its the DA that I dont like.

Ive loved revolvers ever since Dirty Harrys 44 automag. My dad had one as a kid, but I never got to shoot it. I initially wanted a Talo 686, but couldnt find one under $900. Dont see the worth of paying that much for it with nothing done to the action so I got this one and put the grips on it I like. Thinking about sending it off but I think I can do what needs to be done myself after reading the threads. These guns arent very complicated when you take them apart. Its very shootable as is, but id like to reduce the DA trigger a bit.

Just curious which spring kit you guys recommend more, Wolf or Wilson and why? Thanks again for all of your input.

I use Wolff. Never even knew Wildom made revolver springs until recently. I put a 13# rebound spring in mine, stoned the rebound slide and mating surfaces.
