New 686P divot in cylinder?

Picked this 686P up today and found this divot on the cylinder. It looks like a machinist tapped it with a drill bit and said "whoops."

I have 6 other S&W revolvers and none of them have this. Check out the picture and you'll see it looks like they tapped it twice with a punch at the edge? If this is a flaw it's going back, but this is the first 7 shot I bought. The punch taps leave me thinking this might have been done on purpose?? Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

It almost looks like they were trying to stake something into that drilled hole.

That is a bit strange. My 686+ doesn't have anything like that. Sure has nothing to do with the gun being a 7 shot.

I have a 686 Plus with 4 " barrel and there is nothing on the cylinder like what you have pictured.

Send it back, none of my 686 plus 3 inch or 6 inch have that
