Well, not new, but how about a new guy with a 915 ? I recently traded into a S&W 915, my first S&W. Its ugly as sin, lots of holster wear/character, but tight and nice mechanicaly.

I havent had a chance to shoot it, weather turned bad and cold, snowing

But supposed to warm up next week so the wife and I have plans to take our pistols shooting

So. I'll be hanging out here, learning what I can and planning to add another S&W to my meager collection at some point, lol

+1

Hands down the best "sleeper" of all the 3rd gen Smiths autos IMHO. I'll never sell mine either.

The 915 was the first economical version of the 3rd generation pistols. It was manufactured 1992-94. It was a pre-plastic and pre-MIM predecessor to the "Value Line." After the AWB restricting magazine capacity, it was reintroduced in 1995 as the 910. However, it also got some "updates" like plastic and MIM parts along with a few less finish cuts on the frame.

Interestingly, when I purchased my 915 on consignment early last year, there was a 910 also on consignment. I was able to strip them both down for a close comparison. Let's just say that when it was "reintroduced" in 1995 as the 910 it was a little more "economical."

FWIW

In addition, the 915 has three locking lugs on the barrel as opposed to the 2 on the 910. Makes for a tighter lockup and better accuracy.

Dude, I like mine a LOT! Shoots like a dream. I would buy another in a NY minute!

I want one! I always thought 915 were one of the nicest looking 3rd gens.

I have noticed my 910 is my least accurate of my 9mms 5906, 908, 59, & 39. However, all are equally reliable and a joy to shoot.

Just purchased a used (looks new) 915 and it shoots as well as my 745 and my 945. I was very surprised at the performance and its a nail driver all day long, not picky on ammo !
It was fairly cheap and I'm as happy as I could be. Now looking for a 3906. PEACE GUYS.

I'm also new here, I also bought a used but nearly new 915 for my first gun. I shoot it often and like it a lot. Added Trijicon night sites and Hogue grips just to make it mine. Enjoy your pistol.

The 915 is the most under rated pistol in the S&W lineup. I will never voluntarily part with mine.

Here is the pic that I thought was in here, thanks Jon96!

I was out with my 915 today and had my other toys along also but just couldn't put it away ! Everything else just stayed packed up. The 915 just had me Jacked up !!!

915s are a good bargain gun nowadays. I like mine better all the time.
