This was posted to another forum I'm a member of and didn't see it here yet.

Been looking at Beretta 92X Performance's but that just changed.

I like that it's SAO, getting rid of the parts for the DA should make for a better trigger.

One of the things that bothers with the Performance is the lack of a decocker and DA capability, which doesn't matter on a competition pistol being used the way it is supposed to be, but just tempts people to manually lower the hammer for no reason other than to do it while at the range and playing with their expensive new toy.

Other thing I noticed is it is optic ready and comes with non-adjustable sights, which makes me wonder if the comments Beretta got from the guys competing with the Performances pretty much told them they all use red dots these days.

I don't think so, many Performances are used with the iron sights for a number of reasons. But the 92XI SAO is more of a working gun setup aimed at 1911 shooters (Beretta even calls it the 92 Eleven ...), so a robust sight with a ledge makes more sense than the bulky and delicate adjustable sight of the Performance. Cost is very likely a factor too.

These are very different guns. The Performance is a much heavier all-steel Nistan finish gun with a Brigadier slide and a full 4.9" barrel, and it is made in Italy. The 92XI SAO is an aluminum frame gun with a gray Cerakote carbon steel slide and a shorter 4.7" barrel made in the US.
