"New" acquisition

I recently acquired a Remington Rolling Block #4 in .22 LR. After a quick going over, I tried it out using .22 Long CB caps. What a fun gun! Don't how it'll work with standard modern ammo, but I'm not sure if I want to take the chance of messing up this very old piece of history. From the date code on the barrel, it was made in 1928, the year before the New York Stock Market Crash, which is considered the beginning of the Great Depression.

The gun is simple and accurate. What else is there?

Here is my Remington Model 4, made in the '30s' and labeled '.22 S-L-LR'. It is a tack driver that I have no compunction about shooting. I wish my eyes could do it justice. It is in the best condition of any I have seen anywhere and rates NRA Antique Excellent. These are the most fun guns one can have, as they weigh next to nothing, and, being single shot, you can shoot them all day and not use up much ammo.
If you have never shot one, do yourself and favor and do so.

It's a beauty. Mine doesn't come close to yours. It's a take down model, incorporating a tapered screw, instead of the lever. My only problem now, is that I want to get a couple more.

very cool guns! i had a stevens favorite made in about 1915 with an old lyman 4X scope that was made in 1932. i loved the little unit, but it was one that had to go on the chopping block when i decided to pay my house off. i will definitely get another one at some point! i really like the remingtons.
