Thanks, I try, I really do.
I haven't looked it over yet, just wiped it down and stuck it away until I have the time to give it the attention it deserves.
I think the guy that allowed me to be its new care taker said it was made around 1946.
All I can find at Alaska gun shows is high priced junk guns and evil black rifles. Congratulations of a great find. Will you shoot it or is it destined to become a safe king?
It'll probably get fired at least once. It has been fired before so no harm should be done. Then probably retire it to sit near my 1928 Shooting Master.
Joni, nice find!! Shoot it and enjoy it as it was meant to be. I'm a bit jealous. As stated above there is a lot of over priced crap floating around here! Iggy, wow, you just threw that out there and I'm not sure about that reply. Valid question... Or does that come with small arms fire? Kyle
I seem to have a lot of proper caliber bullets here, they just need to be reloaded correctly. (good winter project)
Don't worry, I don't remember ever shooting at anyone. (old and forgetful?)
I think it was 5 digits, started with a 7 but honestly, I wiped it down and put it away until I have the time to inspect it more closely and clean it up a bit.
It has the pre war hammer and ejector rod tip and but post war style rear sight and it doesn't look like the one I have from '50 or '55. It's definitely older than they are.
