Governor Brewer signed off on the bill allowing CCW permit holders to carry within an establishment that holds a liquor license. Of course the article in the Republic doesn't mention when the new law takes effect, that would be quality reporting after all. Thank you to Governor Brewer for signing this into law and thank you Barrack Obama for taking Napolitano out of Arizona.

Arizonans with concealed weapons permits will be able to take a handgun into bars and restaurants that serve alcohol.

That's under a bill signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer on Monday.

It would require bar and restaurant owners who want to ban weapons to post a sign next to their liquor license. Drinking while carrying a weapon would be illegal.
Before a compromise reached late in the session, the measure pitted powerful groups representing gun and bar owners against each other.

Opponents have said mixing guns and alcohol could cause violence, but supporters said people should be able to protect themselves at businesses that serve alcohol.

The bill originally only applied to establishments with kitchens. It was expanded to include bars.

The Arizona news media has been biased against this Bill ever since it was reintroduced this year. It was always Vetoed by Gov. Napolitano in years past. I have always carried in restaurants, but only those that don't serve alcohol...such as Taco Bell, Golden Arches, etc. Now I will be able to go to restaurants like Outback, Red Lobster, etc. The news media has never done a story on the benefits of Concealed Carry and probably never will.

The law goes into effect Sept. 30.
