Anybody else ever get all faint and giggly when the new Spring Capt. Harry's fishing catalogue comes out

All those 'spensive gold fishing reels-all those lures-and the best thing is that you don't have to have them shipped to an FFL!!

I used to be that way about Bass Pro Shops back when I was a kid. They didn't have the big event stores, just a mail order catalog, an no internet. My Dad and I used to look at them together and think about what we could try out that might catch fish. I miss those days. No worries, just fishing.

A few days ago I was working and a foreman said to one of the laborers, a young kid;
Don't forget that Playboy magazine in your lunch box..your wife will be mad !
The kid said...
My wife doesn't care if I read Playboy, she gets mad if she catches me with a Cabelas catalog !!

I used to spend a good bit of time in Miami when I was working 10-15 + yrs ago, I carried lots of gear back from Capt. Harry's Store, bought a Tarponware shirt there when they first came out, still have and use it once in a while.
For catalogues the Herters catalogues we used to get in the late 50s used to set me to dreaming, loads of fishing, hunting, and camping gear.
