New Car Purchase

Either of the SUV's you mentioned should serve you well. I have one the same size, a 2012 KIA Sportage Turbo. This size vehicle is the best combination of ease of entry and egress, storage capacity and economy, IMO.

I would not mind a new Ford Ranger pickup but I detest the engine on/off while driving and the fact that you have to turn it off every time you get in the truck if you don't want it. Besides, I will probably be driving my Sportage until Mom is gone any way. It is quite easy for her to get in and out of and I only have 24,000 on it so far.

My new to me cars in the last 2 years were a '93 Corvette w/62,000 miles and everything worked except the radio. No problems with it, just bought a '09 Dodge Challenger w/40,000 miles from an estate. Runs great just needed an oil change. Neither car had a information screen. I have no problem getting where I want to go. Greatest thing about these cars was the price the ( Vette $7500, Challenger $8500) I kept the rest of my money in the bank.
My wife drives a '05 T-Bird (42,000 miles) and we kept her '94 T-Bird (130,000 Miles) as back up for visitors. As you may guess I don't trade and usually drive cars until they are shot. I hate the depreciation hit you take on a new car. I bought a Brand new '03 Mustang GT for $26,000 and less than 3 years later I got $11,000 for it trade in. My neighbor has a Lexus, I think and it cost almost $900.00 to replace a headlight. $300 for a new bulb, $300 to replace some type of transformer and $300 to remove and replace the front of his car to replace the light.
MY rant is Done. Sorry for going on so long
