New Colt Python 4.25" in Bright Stainless (sans timing issues, hopefully?)

I have several older pythons and have added a 6" and 4" 2020 models to the stable. LOVE EM ! Now if they will release some blued ones as well as a snub!

I agree, it'll be really, really hard to pass up a 2.5" snubby in any configuration for me, but it'd be even nicer to see some blued one's come out.

Nice D/A triggers, S/A is too heavy. That is why I went with the 4.25" as a practical D/A combat revolver. Forget S/A and the 6" for precision with that S/A trigger. S&W is what you seek if one wants a great S/A trigger.

Thank's for the comment, too bad this isn't a comparison thread of the two? Maybe you should start one.

I would like to see numbers that are more current than June 2020... I know 2 people locally that have sent theirs back for timing issues...
I agree, I'd be interested in seeing those numbers too.

It is hard to admit but, at one point in my life, I acquired and new, unfired 3" Python in a trade. My plan was to keep it for carry but, it was to nice to keep, carry or shoot. I sold it to a collector in Wyoming back in the late 80's.

The new Python, acquired by 03hemi, looks fantastic!

Congrats, enjoy and please post a range report!

3", wow talk about a unicorn! Bet you wished you still had that one too.

I hate to say it, but I might need to get one. And I need another .357 revolver like I need a hole in the head!

CH4 what kind of grips are those in the first pic? Maker and what kind of wood? I'm waiting (hopefully) for a 4" Diamondback in .22 cal. And I agree with others on producing a blued model.

These still don't seem to be readily available for anything less than MSRP, but I have to say that Colt knocked the revival of the Python out of the park. I would like to see a polished blue version sometime, and a return of Colt's medallion rubber Pachmayrs as an option. They look a lot prettier to me than comparable Hogues like the ones on the new Anaconda.

Beautiful!! I have 3 older Pythons, one from 1977, 1985, and a Stainless from ? I love them all and shot the older Python the most. No problems with timing. Those that have the new ones are lucky.

Good question, I wish I knew for sure. I got them off ebay, they were in a bundle of 8 sets of grips (which also included a pristine set of Fuzzy Farrants) I bought for $50 - they were still NIB. I assumed they were some kind of walnut, but never gave it much thought. Perhaps there's a wood wizard on here that possible knows. I can see a possible resemblance to kingwood, but so many woods look very similar. I do like the old school look of Herretts, a common grip found on Pythons during 60s and 70s. Coincidentally, my dad had the exact model grips on his duty gun, a Colt Official Police.

Thanks, I always liked the Herretts. I got my brother some Shooting Stars about 30 yrs ago for Christmas for his Security Six. If I ever get that Diamondback I'll have to try some of those on it.
03Hemi that Python looks good. $46 markup isn't bad at all considering what some are going for.
