New Colt Python for January 2020?

Hope it’s proudly emblazoned with the QR codes that the new cobras have:

How elegant!

LOL!!!;) A really nice touch on a fine revolver :eek:

Check out Gunbroker - there is one up to $1925 with 14 bids and another at $1600 with 9 bids - and a couple others as well.

Dealers will jump on the 'bandwagon' and sell their stock (what they get - if any) online for much higher than MSRP OR keep one, frame it and hang it on the wall with some ridiculous price on it.

These will most likely never end up as a typical 'stock' item for any dealer with one in the cabinet and 'Two in the back room'.

If they do it will be few and far between and price will always be at or higher than MSRP. Someone who has wanted a Python will gladly pay $1500 or more for a new one over the average $2500 or more for a 'used' one.

Colt is well aware of the market and will most likely limit production to ensure sales of all the guns they make as opposed to overproducing and having too many 'out there'. They want to keep the demand up. This is an 'old' story with Colt.

Yep, they may keep production limited, a custom shop sort of a thing like they did at the end of the original Python production. Keeps the prices high and maximizes profit for them and dealers.

The things being seen on line right now are not encouraging for the resurrected Python.

The same issues...light primer strikes, cylinders failing to turn, etc are showing up....and are growing.

Colt might have released this revolver in a big hurry and failed to work the bugs out...or simply didn't care. In either case, QC seems to be an issue. I have heard similar results involving the Cobra as well.

While I'm glad to see Colt back in the wheelgun business, I'm afraid the Colt most of us knew decades back is gone for good. :(

Went to my LGS, but they didn't have any yet. They did have a 3", 629 that was really pretty, and $500 less than the Colt. I'm thinking hard on this one.
