New Corvette

[QUOTE)Personally, I am looking to buy a classic Corvette, 68-72' or a good used one from 2002-2007 (QUOTE]

I restored a 68 Vette (convertible) 1968 had a lot of one off parts, a real pain in the ---, first year of the coke bottle style. My advice go 69-72 ;)

I haven't seen any posts by Red Foreman yet.

Enjoy your rides gentlemen as this guy seems to be doing.;)

I'm 64yo and I've owned chevys since I was 15yo. I've built small block and big block chevys for drag racing in my teens to early 20's. I build some fun to drive rides. My point is I had two used Chevy suburbans and always wanted a fully loaded brand new one. My brand new '88 fully loaded V20 4x4 suburban was awesome. The engine blocked cracked in the lifter area of the block at 52k miles. A small block chevy 350 block cracking is unheard of. Then I found out the cast iron blocks were made thinner during the casting process. The dealer installed a rebuilt 350 engine. I said that would be better since its a used seasoned block. The 88 suburban was my last Chevy/GM product.

My brand new 1997 Subaru was so awesome quality wise I purchased a brand new 2010 Subaru. Soon I'll purchase a brand new 2015 Subaru next.
There gas mileage is awesome and the quality is top notch. The Subaru are a 300k mileage+++ car. I've had nothing but problems with brand new Chevy/GM cars/trucks I'm done.

I have a 1999 jeep wrangler 4.0L 4x4 that's been awesome too. I was a jeep mechanic in the early 70's so I knew what goodies to order. I'd still buy another jeep too.

New Corvette? Go to an auction and get an older quality one. A nice 427/425hp. I'd restore one before I'd buy a new junk one.

I had a lot of respect for C5 Vettes and really liked the ZO6 having ridden in a few. I liked the C6 even better, but I never have wanted a "new Corvette." Until now. I slobber and drool when I see a C7. "Wicked" is my favorite word to describe them. Before I shell out that kind of money for a C7, I'll buy a classic GTO. Those have been at the top of my list since I was a kid along with the early Trans Ams, '69-'73. $50K + for a depreciating daily driver vs. a collectible garage queen is a no brainer in my book.

Well I just came back from a dealer after looking at a 15 C7 Vette Convertible and am seriously thinking of getting it. The dealer gave me a good price on my trade(07 ZO6) and he does not play the games that some dealers do by asking for a significant amount of money over the MSRP!

Wife is out of state and be home tomorrow and we will talk, so it's a good chance I might be changing out my avatar picture in the future to show the new ride if the dealer still has the car Monday:D. FWIW she has been asking me for months when are you going to get your new Vette.

Been married almost 45 years now and I think I will keep her. OBTW she also has her pistol permit and does not give me a hard time about buying new guns. I got one of the good ones, heck she is even blond!:)
