Welcome to the Forum. There's a couple of factors involved here, that will affect the value. The box seems to have had more waer than the gun. If the box is original to the gun, meaning that's the box the gun was in when it left S&W, I would do some restoration on it to achieve the best price. Assuming the gun has not been refinish, and is truly 100% unfired, value, in the original box is $900 to $1,000. If the box is not original to the gun ( check for a serial number written on the bottom in pencil or crayon ) the gun is a $550 - $700 gun and the box is $100, or thereabouts.

I'm pretty sure it's the original box.I'll check on the numbers. Claimed to be stored away in a drawer all these years. It was a pawn shop purchase about 15yrs ago. It's been moved around in the safe ever since. We probally could have took better care of the box ourself.

I assume you mean the serial # 224xxx you have in your first post. They stopped shipping the 32 Safetys at serial# 242981. Number 224981 shipped in March of 1921. That should be pretty close to yours.

PamlicoMike----I guess that makes us neighbors---I am 1 mile east of the Bayview Ferry. We are probably cruising guns in the same shops!
