New FBI List

To make matters even worse, I just got a message on my phone from the IRS. Some guy with an East Indian accent said that I was in arrears with my income tax and if I didn't call back immediately the sheriff would be by to arrest me.
.

I've sent that IRS guy about $10000 so far and he's still calling me. I'm beginning to think somethings not right. At least no one has shown up to arrest me yet.

I don't get that one at all. I think of colonial times, and the 1976 Bicentennial.

I always thought that the Betsy Ross flag was a great looking flag.

There was a movement using the Betsy Ross flag. It means that you don't recognize the current flag as it no longer represents freedom.

Someone mentioned the "indicators" for workplace violence. Decades ago one of our supervisors got sent off to one of the first briefings on those. When he came back, each shift got briefings on subject. Went well until he started down the list of possible indicators. After a few, we started looking at our shift mates who fit, then we started pointing, didn't take long for each indicator to be met with laughter. Especially when they got to "divorced".

I'm not sure if the Southern Poverty Law Center qualifies as a hate group, scam or both. They've definitely found a way to avoid poverty themselves.

The FBI has unlimited resources to ferret out the dire threats to America. Having eliminated all possible threats by classifying them according to an "official score" the only "doomsday threat" remaining are Americans that Love our Country, address folks with "Sir" and "Ma'am," pray regularly, work for a living, like their cars (bigger is better), shoot guns that they appreciate having, fish with lead sinkers, fly flags that say: "Don't tread on me", etc. 50 years ago this was a description of a "Model Citizen." Today "The View" who informs the consciousness of half the population proclaim the ---------- (insert pejorative). At least the "inside of my head" is still free. And you can't conquer a free man/woman, you can only kill them. Joe

Perhaps many of you have already been made aware of the most recent "leaked" list of what, apparently, the FBI consider potential signs of domestic terrorism or terrorists.

As much as I am capable of editorializing on this - in deference to the very sound rules here I will not and neither should you.

Suffice to say, however, we have a flagpole in our front yard. If you ever visit our home it is likely one of the suspected symbols may very well be aloft. There are some that apparently the Bureau has overlooked that might be taking their turn at the top of our flagpole as well. Fair warned.

Americans have been on watchlists with the Feds since J. Edgar Hoover so this is nothing new.

Several years ago, I learned (don't ask how) that I was on one such list and that ALL veterans within the past fifty years have been on the list, too. Probably just being an NRA member or a member of a forum such as this automatically puts you on one. It wouldn't surprise me.

I lose NO sleep on it.

I agree with Caje ............. If you aren't on a list already you ain't trying very hard. By now we are all on some kind of list, just having an opinion and voicing it are enough to get someone keeping an eye on you nowadays! I need to grab another flag pole mount for the new "Don't Tread On Me" flag the wife picked up for me at the county fair (she knows me pretty well LOL) ........... Need to give the neighbors something new to talk about ..............

Uh....if you're a male US citizen 18-45 years of age, you are by federal statute a member of the militia. Ditto under many states' constitutions and statutes.

Over the past several decades we have adopted new statutes and constitutional amendments prohibiting discrimination based upon age or gender, so it is arguable that the federal militia now consists of all citizens and lawful residents. Physical handicaps have also been pronounced as protected, so the old "able-bodied" standard is gone as well.

The militia of the United States is authorized in the Constitution and enacted as public law under Title 10 US Code. Most of the states have similar constitutional provisions for the state militias. These have always served as the underlying authority for Selective Service (draft by conscription).

The term "militia" has been given a negative connotation in recent years because of the various radical movements adopting that moniker for their organizations, but militia service has always been part of the duties of citizenship in our country. Perhaps overlooked by government officials, but remaining as a legal institution for as long as our republic has existed.

...Just remember that Maria Butina, the convicted Russian spy, worked hard to infiltrate conservative groups (including the NRA), and provided deep background information to Russian troll farms. The troll farms, especially the Internet Research Agency (Yevgeny Prigozhin), try to pose as Americans on all kinds of internet forums, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc., to sow distrust and anti-USG conspiracies wherever they think they can find fertile soil. They do this in shifts, 24/7, using a variety of methods to obfuscate their origins. They do it to the EU as well, anywhere they can sow distrust of democracy.

That's why I hope an alphabet agency at least uses alogrithms to screen through our firearms forums.

It's sadly amusing to me that so many Americans who are so cynical when it comes to US Government law enforcement and security agencies...are seemingly blind to the deliberate, calculated efforts of foreign governments to sow discord in our society.

I suspect many or most of us have accounts on other social media sites. Well, when you notice poorly-written posts, from accounts that have no photos, no friends, and no information attached to them, that's a dead giveaway that the poster is in Moscow and not Miami.

Documentation of these Russian efforts isn't hard to find, if you're willing to look for it.
