New format.

Still learning the ins and outs, so I'll reserve judgement. It is easier to read on my phone. It may be better once I get used to it.

I mostly prefer the previous format but this is a mild change to others. No problem at the moment. I'm just glad to see how all the current members were asked for input before the changes were implemented.

When the board was down, I prayed that it would not rise like a vertical periscope.
Hope Mr Jarrett is still the owner, and our mods are all onboard.
Change can be good.

Can't believe how fast I forgot how it used to be...I'll take that as a sign of success. I may be wrong, but it seems like there were more threads on the first page of the old forum than there are on the new...are sticky threads taking up more space than they used to? Have to go to page two to continue seeing threads that are current. No big deal, just an observation that might be wrong.

Yes and yes...
We're still learning the new system and I already think it's a vast improvement. The old system was becoming obsolete and this one is much more secure.
That is Awesome To Hear !

Thanks for all the hard work Y'All do ... Keep On Keepin On !

It's definitely different, I opted for the "dark" background. At least it isn't the same format as all the other forums have gone to, although I do like the "drag and drop" picture loading method better. This new format does look a bit "less commanding" than the old one, but as long as the content hasn't changed, I'll adapt.

I used to view through Tapatalk on my phone, however, I like the new website a lot better than the last version. The old version I felt like I was at an odd dream like carnival with lights flashing and distractions everywhere.

Yeah, I already like the new version a lot!

This /\

As soon as I opened it after the upgrade I was "thank God they updated everything"

seems like when I post it only shows up when clicking on that specific forum topic. Had a WTB add going which didn't show up in the new post section. How do I address that. Thanks

It's still there...

I have spent over 30 years developing user interface and I have yet to hear a resounding "YEA!" about a new system.
Most comments were negative, some were downright invective, comments about losing their old system with all of their beloved functions while questioned my sanity, family history and ability to dress myself.
However, most of the people learned the new functions and adapted to the new system and functions.
When I first saw the new screens I too fell into the WHAT, WHY, WHERE mob but, being a smart monkey, I will learn and adapt to the new normal.
If we didn't have change we would still be in our cave, sitting on a rock, cooking meat on a stick over the fire.

I use it on my phone almost exclusively. It was kind of a pain in the past because all of the text would not fit my screen, even when I went landscape mode…I would have to scroll back and forth as I read to see everything. With the new format, to me anyway, it's easier on the eyes and fits the screen properly. I also like the photo posting feature; way easier than the old way and you don't need a hosting app to post full size pictures. When you go to a previously viewed thread, it goes right to the first unread post. I'm learning more as I navigate around it, but I'm definitely in the "like it better" column.

One thing I have noticed is there is no "preview post" option, which I relied heavily on because I hate making misteaks😉

But at first, I definitely said "what the heck", but that was after the forum came back and the dreaded "404 not found" went away. I think we all collectively breathed a sigh of relief when that happened.

"Preview" is in the upper right of the posting box:

I will need some help trying to find a few things but will wait a few weeks until everything is uploaded. I was one of the few who used the light blue screen and I now enjoy the white as it's easier to read for me.

I am hoping we still have our saved subscriptions.

I Love it! I can understand there are some that don't , So for them, Thank God there is another Smith and Wesson forum on the net.

Wow...leave for a few days and come back to see the site revamped and redecorated. I love it! Works like most of the other gun forums now, making it it easier (for me) to navigate. For you longtimers, it'll take a bit more getting use to, I'm sure. But...it's good! Nice update.

Using the dark mode, I find this update to be an upgrade and like it much better. Especially, as someone stated earlier, without that "carnival" appearance with all the ridiculous ads taking up much of the screen.
