I just bought my first Smith and Wesson. It is a new Model 10 with a 4" barrel. I wanted something both my wife and I could use for home defense. I liked the 4" barrel for better accuracy at longer distance than snub nose. I used to have a single action Ruger Bearcat .22 with a 4" barrel and I liked its accuracy. I am going to take a CCDW course and probably will buy another gun to carry. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Hey there and welcome to the forum from Western KY.
Look at the M&P Shield 9mm if you can find one.

I'm just curious, and I promise I'm not trying to turn this forum into Facebook, but I was born and raised in Ky. and wondered what part you're from. I'm from Greenville, in Muhlenberg County.

Welcome aboard from WI! This is the best place to learn and share all things Smith & Wesson! :)

Welcome from Texas Gordon3104. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

The M&P 45 ACP is my duty sidearm and I love it. Lots to choose from though.

And a warm welcome from “wild and wonderful “ West Virginia at least that’s what they tell us.
