Hello all, new to the S&W forum. I’m relatively new to the revolver world but not to firearms. My father put a 16-Ga. single shot ( Ithaca, I think) in my arms sixty two years ago and taught me to hunt rabbit and squirrel in the hills of southern Ohio and I’ve been a waterfowl and upland hunter ever since then. I also love to fly and do long range fishing trips out of San Diego but I think the day of me pulling on a big tuna are coming to an end with thesealmost seventy three old shoulders. We still live in SoCal but own a home in south Texas and as per my Bride…we’re not moving south unless the (four all grown ) children move out of state. I’m semi retired and own a construction related company and still working on finding that one person with the energy and desire to take the reins.
We have a collection of S&W and Ruger semi auto pistols and my wife loves to shoot all of them. About two weeks before last Mothers’ Day I stopped into one of our LG stores and in the display case was a new S&W 686-6 4” PC .357. I handled it for a bit and told him to write up and I would bring my wife back to do the DROS. I knew it was a rare find in this part of the country as I had been looking for a revolver just like this. Happy mother’s day honey! Actually, she was thrilled and has already become quite good at managing it with .38 SP loads. I do all my own reloading for handgun, shotgun and I really like shooting the 686 and looking forward to increasing my collection.
Sorry didn’t mean to be long winded
