Stray BBs in PDX1 etc.
I have a Winchester PDX1 in the first chamber for home defense followed by a Federal 000 Buck (the 1200fps not the 850fps), then two Hornady .45acp+P TAP FPD and then 2 Cor-Bon DPX 45 Colt +P.
I worry about the stray BB's with the PDX1 as well and when I carry my Guv outside of my home I simply index to the Federal 000 Buck round for first round. I may do totally away with the PDX1 as I also worry about my 42" HDTV and pets etc.
It's difficult/impossible to predict the type of defensive situation one may encounter. I had to pull my Glock in self defense last month. It was the first time I've had to do that since I started lawfully carrying over 30 years ago. Point is, hopefully non of us will have to actually shoot someone but if we do, to only hit the bad guy. That's why I favor the Federal 000 Buck (1200fps). It holds a tight pattern (4"-5" over 7 yards and if you can hit center of mass it'd be like getting hit with 4 average 380acp's- 4 38spl's. The Governor is most definitely a point at center of mass gun when loaded with any kind of shot shell.
The Guv is a great woods gun as well loaded with Federal #4's for the first one or two shots followed possibly by the above mentioned Cor-Bon DPX 45 Colt +P.
I find the Governor a great all around defensive handgun and a pleasure to shoot. BTW, I've not shot it with the Cor-Bons yet but will post results when I do. I expect them to do well.
