I recently traded a Gluck 31 for a 629-5 Mountain Gun. I was in the original box with paper and lock. He threw in 2 boxes of 1998 vintage American Eagle ammo.

I came out ahead on the deal.

I wasn't really happy with the original Hogue Mono Goodyears so I called Smith customer service and asked about the grips I see on the new 329 Nightguard.

A credit card number and 3 days later-new rubber with S&W logos. I think I like em.

Before and after pics attached.

Basically they're Pachmayr Compacs, I really like them too. Here's a set on my 625-3.

Can anyone recommend a good holster for the 629 mg. My criteria would be:

no black leather
prefer a paddle or clips
outside waistband
thumbreak, snap or flap over would be ok
higher ride the better
I am right handed

I have a Galco DOA for mine. It is a belt holster, but no clips or paddle. Works well and you can use it cross draw as well.

Simply Rugged Holsters, El Paso Saddlery or Lobo Gunleather. You can pay more, but you won't get much better.

A third for Simply Rugged. I have one for the 3" and it is top notch....and Rob is a top notch guy to deal with too. He not only does the leather work, but usually answers the phone, too! Thinkin' I might have to spend some money again.....he has a really nice lefty for a 4" n-frame on his website!
