I second that! How can I get that deal???

Flop Shank would agree (because he's the one that enlightened me), that's the best round you can feed your new snubbie.

EDIT: Wait, I was thinking .357, but I'm sure those are good too.

I've fired their "leadless" 158 .38+P. If what you have produces equivalent ballistics then you have a great product. The leadless Speer is bar none the most accurate non-wadcutter .38 special ammunition I've fired. I was startled at how much it reduced the group size from either my model 27 or my 66. At 15 yards I was able to put 6 rounds in one large hole. The only unexpected result that I obtained with the ammo was that it tended to shoot slightly higher than I'd anticipated. But, I was able to get consistent bullseyes, just by lowering my point of aim slightly.

Well, they knocked $40 off the ammo bc I bought the gun. Nice of 'em as I was set to pay the $180 as marked. :) I's supposed to be a military overrun and I've seen it at another shop, so it must be out there. My gun buying has left me a little short for a time or I'd pick up another box at that price.

The little gun is almost too cute to shoot and I've had it at the range but saved it for another time. I was shooting with a group of folks and I was the only one hitting the target consistantly and didn't want to look like a tyro.

That ammo was sitting in some police departments ammo locker and for what ever reason they traded it in, thats why its bulk packed and marked not for LE (lawenforcement use).

Got it. this ammo is recycled LE stuff. Makes sense as they run with auto loaders now. I could have mixed up LE with Military in my story:).

Burley, some cops still carry revolvers as a primary and many more as BUGs. NYPD issues SB .38+Ps and the buzz on the internet is that it has worked well.

NYPD issues the Speer 135 grain JHP+P as their .38 Special duty round, for both 4 and 2 inch guns. It was initally developed for the 2 inch guns, but was found to be equally capable for the 4 inch ones also. You were able to get a very good price for the ammo; generally it runs about $1 a round retail.

I have ammo similarly marked in 357 SIG (Gold Dots) I bought years ago from Ammoman. IIRC, they were from lots that were rejected by LEA's after testing. They were rejected, IIRC, for having too much percentages of rounds' velocity measuring "around" a specified range rather than in it and a low percentage of FTF's.

The batch I have is good ammo and tested well in wetpacks. I have had no FTF's.

Wow, this ammo sounds like good stuff. Perfect for my new little gun. I'm kinda broke right now, but maybe I'll see if I can swing another box when I pick up my new gun Thur. Thanks for the input everybody.

CZ 75B 9 ST Limited Ed :)

Around here, I see a few cops and they all seem to have Glocks I haven't seen a wheel gun on a cops side in a long, long time. I've got a buddy on the city PD, I'll have to ask him about it next time I see him.
